Welcome to Hugo Schmidt Elementary School, home of the Sailors! Our sailing mission is grounded firmly on the premise that we’re “Anchored in Academic Excellence and Integrity.” Furthermore, our mission involves building a partnership with all our stakeholders in striving toward what is best for each of our students.
Our school, named for Hugo Schmidt, Sr., will begin its 7th year in 2009-2010 and is situated in the Brandon area. The staff is dedicated and is regularly recognized as a group that goes above and beyond in making academic success a reality. The tremendous work ethic that staff has is a reflection of the priorities our name sake has had as he served our country in the Armed Services of the Navy, as a successful local business man, as well as serving on the Hillsborough County School Board from 1967-1976.
My charge as the Assistant Principal is to keep all hands on deck and navigate toward a horizon that leads our students to the distant shores of success. Challenges are overcome by clarity of vision and here at Hugo Schmidt we’re dedicated to meeting the needs for all our students!
